If you’re a loyal My Storage client or fan, you’ll know that we’ve been working hard and waiting patiently for our new units to arrive over the past few months. They’ve finally made it here to little wee Nelson, despite the disruptions of COVID, shipping delays, and local transit, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Let’s take a quick look at how we got them into our yard.

Port Nelson

The last leg of the journey started at Port Nelson. We loaded our 80 storage containers onto crane trucks with the help of the folks at BCL Crane & Cartage so that they could be delivered to their forever home. But let’s first rewind a bit.

Before this happened, we thought we could get away with a forklift. A few inquiries later, we soon found out that there was no forklift that was big enough to carry each of our 9.7-tonne containers. So we got in touch with the guys at Lift N Shift Limited and hired a crane. The crane worked perfectly and made the job easier, faster, and safer.

The yard

Once our 80 new, long-awaited containers touched down in our yard, the construction process began, and that too, with little stress. Can you believe that setting up a home garden shed or a furniture piece from IKEA is harder than setting up our kit set storage containers? The instructions were super straightforward to follow, which made our job a breeze.

As you can imagine, setting up 80 containers can take some time, but in the meantime, we had the ball rolling with professional cleaning and asphalting.

All of our units have been professionally cleaned as we like to ensure our clients have the cleanest units possible. Our grounds will also be finished next week, so your arrival will be much more pleasant through the gravel. Not to mention fewer footprints in our office.

Within the first week, we’ve already had five containers rented out, and they seem to be a hit because there is an obvious need for them.
