Whether you’re moving to a new house or looking to de-clutter your existing home, we have a range of unit sizes available that will give you ‘Space when you need it’.

Our storage options are available short term or long term with a minimum of one month’s storage.

Storage Tips
  • Don’t store anything that is wet or perishable
  • Metal items need to be clean and dry
  • Whiteware appliances with sealing doors, such as fridges and freezers, should be stored with the door slightly ajar
  • All electrical equipment needs to be dry and thoroughly cleaned
Secure Storage

MyStorage has point to point beams located in different areas of the storage complex. These beams are activated at night and are monitored by a local Nelson security firm. My Storage has high definition IP security cameras in various locations of the Storage Complex, continuously monitoring the complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is also an option for individually alarmed units. An extra fee is charged for a fully alarmed unit. If an unauthorised person attempts enter a unit, it will activate the alarm, which will notify the security firm who will then investigate. To secure the unit a padlock is required, that you supply, or for your convenience, can be purchased from the Richmond office.

Termination

Two weeks’ notice is required to be given to the Licensor if on a long-term open Storage Licence Agreement. The Licensee will ensure the unit has been cleaned and tidied by the end of their Licence Agreement.

Insurance

The goods you have in a self-storage unit are yours and remain your sole responsibility. You should always have them covered by insurance. Check with your insurance provider to see if your cover has provision for items in storage.

Long Term

Your storage licence will extend automatically each month until you choose to terminate it.

Can I store short term?

Pricing

Our storage units are very affordable.  The cost of storage depends on the size of the unit, please contact us via email or phone for a quote.  All prices quoted include GST, and there is no administration fee.

Facility access

The complex is opening during daylight hours only, 7 days a week  

  • 1 April – 30 September; 6.30am to 6.00pm
  • 1 October to 31 March; 6.00am to 8.30pm  

Our office hours are 9.00am – 4.00pm

You supply the lock, or alternatively you can purchase high security locks from our office. You retain the key for both options.

How can I pay?

Payment is required before entry will be given.  You can pay by cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Internet banking or online [Link to Online payment].  If you are storing long term with us, we ask that a monthly automatic payment be set up with your bank.

What if I don’t pay?

There are several steps we undertake if (outstanding) invoices are not paid on time. You will receive a series of overdue letters, beginning with a friendly reminder for a missed payment after 3 days. Subsequent 7, 14, and 21-day letters will follow this if fees remain unpaid. If payment still has not been received after a month, we overlock the containers, with further action taken

If you don’t pay your due storage fees you will be charged interest on any overdue accounts. We will also overlock your unit and deny you access until all overdue fees are up to date.  Alternatively, under the terms of the storage licence we reserve the right to sell your goods to recover the money owed.  If your goods do not cover the outstanding account or you have left without paying, we will lodge the overdue account with our debt collectors; this will affect your credit rating.

Can you recommend Furniture Removers?

Yes, we can recommend a Remover on your behalf, if required.

Do I need to book a storage unit in advance?

It is advisable to book a unit to ensure the storage unit is available when you need it. Bookings are held for one week during our busy periods (spring and summer). During winter months, we can hold the unit for up to a month depending on availability.

Can I move in today?

Yes, if we have a unit available and our storage licence is completed and advanced payment received.

Do I have to sign an agreement prior to moving in?

Yes. All rented units require a storage licence. Our storage agreement outlines our terms and conditions.
