We have been here before, we can do it again. Although Nelson Tasman is not in lockdown at this point in time, Covid-19 Alert Level 2 does come with its own challenges to local businesses.
So what can we do this time around during Covid-19 restrictions to support our local businesses?
Here’s a few tips from us here at My Storage – we are using these ourselves to support local businesses and shop kindly during this period of time.
- Be kind to others – pay attention to shopping limits on certain items and remember that there is no shortage on supermarket supplies and therefore no need to stock up on items. Do your normal shop as you normally would.
- Be patient – supermarkets, cafes, chemists, all of the staff onsite at these businesses are human. They will trying their absolute best to look after their customers health and safety, whilst providing a good service too. Chill out, take a moment and let staff do their job, even if it means you have to wait a little longer in a queue or for a table.
- Keep shopping local! Many local businesses now have an online shop and would love your support. Try looking to local shops either in person or online before resorting to out of town or out of NZ sites to get your items.
- Spread the word when you get good service somewhere, or you find a great local product. Use social media to tell your network about your good experience! They will love you for it.
If you have any tips you would like to share with us around how we can support local businesses during Covid-19 alert levels, and in general, please let us know!
